Reba McEntire’s latest cover left some fans less than satisfied. During the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City, Florida, the country icon opted to throw an unexpected cover of Dua Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now” into her set. The reviews of the moment were mixed.

On X, several users were simply confused by the choice.

“REBA SINGING DUA LIPA FEELS LIKE ARETHA FRANKLIN SINGING TOUCH MY BODY. 😭😭😭😭,” one person wrote.

“reba covering dua lipa at her concert tonight was not on my 2025 bingo card, what would possess her to do that 💀,” another person questioned. “she’s turning seventy this year and throwing all caution to the wind and I love that for her.”

Meanwhile, another person was admittedly “shocked” by the choice.

One social media user wrote that McEntire “f**king killed it” during her performance of the pop song, while another gushed, “reba singing dua lipa !! two icons !!”

One person even provided a whole thread of reasons why the cover was an epic choice.

“It’s fun, it’s upbeat, it’s different,” they wrote in part. “Take it for what it is. Entertainment.”

Reba McEntire’s Next Shows

McEntire isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Following her performance in Florida, the country superstar will travel to Texas where she’ll perform at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on March 4.

Ahead of the gig, McEntire took to Instagram to share a throwback video.

The video, which was taken in 1984, featured McEntire performing “Why Do We Want (What We Know We Can’t Have),” her hit from the previous year. Wearing a red-sequined dress and rocking some big ’80s hair, McEntire delivered an epic performance.

“TBT to 1984 when I took the stage at @rodeohouston! Can’t wait to see y’all next week! 🤠,” she captioned the clip.

After the rodeo, McEntire will still have a busy month ahead. She’s set to play gigs in Oklahoma, California, Canada, and Connecticut.
