Brad Pitt is the latest Hollywood celebrity to fall victim to Los Angeles’ growing wave of high-profile home burglaries. According to law enforcement sources, the actor’s Los Feliz residence was broken into late Wednesday night while he was away promoting his upcoming film, “Formula One.”

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed a break-in occurred around 10:30 p.m. at a residence in the upscale Los Feliz neighborhood, though they did not publicly identify the homeowner. Two law enforcement officials with direct knowledge of the case, however, confirmed to NBC News that the property belongs to Pitt.

Fortunately, Pitt was not at home during the incident. He is currently on a promotional tour for “Formula One,” the much-anticipated racing film he stars in and co-produces.

Police say the burglary involved three unidentified suspects who scaled the front fence of the gated property and gained access to the home. Once inside, they ransacked the residence and made off with an undisclosed quantity of miscellaneous property. The value of the stolen items has not yet been determined, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities have not released descriptions of the suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing. Surveillance footage from nearby homes is being reviewed, and police have increased patrols in the area.

This incident adds to a troubling trend of celebrity-targeted crimes in the Los Angeles area. Just last month, actress Jennifer Aniston—Pitt’s former wife—was the victim of an alarming intrusion when a man reportedly rammed his car through the front gates of her Bel Air estate. The suspect in that case was arrested and is facing multiple charges.

And in February, the Beverly Hills home of actress Nicole Kidman and country singer Keith Urban was burglarized on Valentine’s Day, with thieves reportedly bypassing security systems to enter undetected. Prior to that, in August of last year, the Pacific Palisades residence of beloved actors Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson was also broken into.

This pattern has fueled ongoing concerns about the safety of celebrity homes in affluent areas of Los Angeles, many of which are assumed to be protected by high-end security systems and private patrol services. Experts say the increased sophistication and boldness of recent burglaries point to organized crime elements possibly surveilling and targeting stars during travel or public engagements.

Though there is no evidence yet linking the Pitt burglary to other recent incidents, the LAPD is not ruling out the possibility that a coordinated ring may be responsible for multiple high-profile break-ins.

“Celebrities’ travel schedules are often public knowledge due to press events and social media,” said a security consultant familiar with L.A.’s private security network. “It makes their homes vulnerable when they’re away, even with state-of-the-art systems in place.”

Pitt, 60, purchased the Los Feliz estate in the 1990s and has lived there intermittently for decades. The multi-structure compound—once owned by horror legend Elvira—is known for its privacy, surrounded by high walls, trees, and a gated perimeter. It has previously served as home to Pitt and Angelina Jolie before their separation.

Representatives for Pitt have not commented on the break-in, but sources close to the actor say he was “shocked and disappointed” by the incident and is cooperating fully with law enforcement.

As the LAPD intensifies its investigation and searches for leads, the case underscores the broader conversation about security, privacy, and crime in celebrity culture. For fans and residents alike, the incident is a stark reminder that even Hollywood’s biggest names are not immune from the risks of modern urban life.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the burglary is urged to contact the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division.
