LeAnn Rimes Walks Off Stage Mid-Song After Dental Bridge Falls Out During Concert

LeAnn Rimes has faced her share of spotlight moments over a decades-long career, but nothing quite like what happened during her recent concert in Washington state.

The Grammy-winning country star, known for hits like “How Do I Live” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” was performing at the Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington, on Saturday night when she was unexpectedly forced to leave the stage—because her front teeth fell out.

In a TikTok video posted the next day, the 42-year-old singer recounted the mishap with grace and humor. “This is the most epic example of how the show must go on,” Rimes said. “Last night, I was onstage in the middle of ‘One Way Ticket’ and I felt something pop in my mouth.”

The culprit? A dental bridge.

“If you’ve been around, you know that I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries, and I have a bridge in front, and it fell out in the middle of my song last night,” she explained.

Bridges are commonly used in restorative dentistry to replace missing teeth and are anchored to adjacent teeth or implants. But as Rimes found out the hard way, they don’t always stay put. She briefly exited the stage to attempt to reposition the bridge but was unsuccessful.

“I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening, or else I would have had to walk off stage,” Rimes said, noting that she returned to finish the set while holding the dental piece in place with her hand. “For the rest of the show… I was pushing my teeth in, like, every couple of lines.”

For a performer with more than three decades of experience in the music industry, it was an unexpected and humbling moment. “I don’t usually have firsts in my career,” she admitted. “That was a first and hopefully a last.”

Rimes, who shot to fame in the 1990s as a teenage country sensation, chose to embrace the mishap rather than hide it. “The show can go on even when the most embarrassing things happen,” she said in her video, encouraging fans and fellow performers alike to embrace vulnerability. “It’s important to be real with people.”

At her Sunday night show—also at Skagit Valley Casino—Rimes leaned into the levity, joking with the crowd about the previous night’s dental dilemma. “For the front row, get ready for something to fly out. If you catch them, please return them,” she quipped.

Fans have since praised Rimes for her candidness and professionalism, applauding her ability to laugh through what could have been a deeply embarrassing moment. It’s a testament to the singer’s resilience and authenticity, qualities that have kept her beloved by fans through the ups and downs of an ever-evolving career.

Rimes burst onto the country music scene at age 13 with her debut album Blue, which showcased a vocal maturity far beyond her years and earned her two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist. She became a staple on the country and adult contemporary charts throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, with chart-topping singles such as “You Light Up My Life,” “I Need You,” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” featured on the Coyote Ugly soundtrack.

Beyond music, Rimes has worn many hats—actress, reality TV star, and author—while maintaining a strong touring presence. Her latest run of shows continues later this summer, with a performance scheduled for August 10 at Point of the Bluff in Hammondsport, New York. Tickets are currently available through AXS.com starting at $77.07, including fees.

As for her dental adventure, Rimes has managed to turn an awkward moment into an inspiring reminder of professionalism and grace under pressure. In the entertainment world, where image is often everything, her willingness to reveal the mishap and carry on has only deepened her connection with fans.

If anything, the incident has added a new story to Rimes’ long list of onstage experiences—and proven once again that even stars aren’t immune to life’s unexpected glitches. But in true country fashion, she picked up, laughed it off, and kept on singing.
