Pedro Pascal Breaks Silence on Romance Rumors, Reveals Why He Keeps Love Life Off the Radar
Pedro Pascal is known for his commanding screen presence and celebrated roles in The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and Game of Thrones. But when it comes to his private life—especially his romantic relationships—the actor has remained notably silent. Now, in a rare moment of candor, Pascal is setting the record straight.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair published June 24, the 50-year-old star opened up about the widespread perception that he is a highly private person—especially regarding his dating life. And, surprisingly, he doesn’t quite agree with the label.
“I always feel perplexed when I’m identified in whatever form of media as a ‘highly private person,’ because that’s the opposite of me,” Pascal shared. “I’m very unprivate in my private life.”
So why, then, has Pascal avoided making any of his romantic relationships public? The answer, he explained, has more to do with the complexity of relationships than an intentional effort to be secretive.
“I just know that personal relationships are such a complex thing to navigate,” Pascal told Vanity Fair, “even without having this enormous lens on them.”
That lens—created by years of fame and a devoted fanbase—has amplified scrutiny on his every move. Earlier this year, Pascal became the subject of online speculation when he was spotted dining with Jennifer Aniston. The internet was abuzz with rumors of a potential romance between the two stars.
Pascal promptly shut those rumors down in an interview with E! News, clarifying the nature of the outing. “We’re friends and we went to dinner with mutual friends,” he said. “It happens.”
This isn’t the first time Pascal’s social encounters have sparked unfounded dating rumors. But the Chilean-American actor has consistently avoided feeding the gossip machine—an approach that reflects a deeper understanding of the pressures fame can place on personal relationships.
Still, while Pascal may be reserved about who he dates, he was refreshingly open about his desire to become a father. The Materialists actor revealed that he dreams of experiencing parenthood in a way that reflects the joy his own parents gave him during his childhood.
“I’ve had dreams of taking my kids to the movies the way my parents took me,” he told Vanity Fair. “So I guess I want a shortcut to an interesting human being who is my child who will go see something that I want to see.”
Though he has no children yet, Pascal’s comments suggest that fatherhood is something he would embrace—especially if it allows him to share simple, meaningful experiences like trips to the cinema.
Pascal also reflected on his professional journey, noting that his career did not take off until well into his 30s—a time when many in Hollywood consider it too late for a breakout.
“In my 30s I was supposed to have a career,” he said. “Past 29 without a career meant that it was over, definitely. Basically, everybody took care of me, well into my 30s. I had angels around me the whole time.”
Those “angels,” as Pascal calls them, were friends, colleagues, and mentors who helped him stay afloat when success still felt elusive. That support eventually paid off. With standout performances in Narcos, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and more recently, The Last of Us, Pascal has become one of the most sought-after actors in the industry.
His decision to keep some parts of his life sacred hasn’t diminished his connection with fans. If anything, it’s enhanced it. The mystery surrounding his dating life has only fueled public fascination—but now, fans at least have some clarity.
Pascal isn’t hiding his love life because he’s secretive or evasive. He’s doing it out of respect—for the people he might be involved with, and for the emotional complexity of being human in the public eye.
With his grounded perspective, career longevity, and openness to fatherhood, Pedro Pascal continues to defy Hollywood expectations—not just as a performer, but as a person navigating fame with grace and self-awareness.
And while the actor may not be ready to publicly debut a significant other any time soon, one thing is clear: the real Pedro Pascal isn’t hiding. He’s just choosing the moments that matter.
As his star continues to rise, it seems fans will have to settle for the characters he brings to life on screen—and perhaps, one day, a glimpse of the father he hopes to become.
